Everytime I see Seattle’s BOAT it feels like the first. They’re effing amazing, as is evident in the footage from NYC Popfest last weekend. Now I HATE describing bands by referencing others, but I think the easiest way to sum ‘em up is like… if Harvey Danger smashed into Titus Andronicus. BOAT for president. Get their 3rd album Setting the Paces here. There’s a new EP in the works too. That is all.
Ahhh to be a fly on the wall in the litigation room for that one! E!Online has the details *HERE* and check out what Jared Leto has to say on the band’s website *HERE* The band’s 3rd studio album called “This is War” is slated for release in the fall now that the peace talks have wrapped with EMI. I wonder if Kanye is onboard to produce? WHEN EGOS COLLIDE…….
Oh hell yes- let’s bow our heads in reverence of a half century of Ms Stacey Q. Read an awesome biography of her *HERE* Potentially best known for her version of ‘Two of Hearts’ (Yes, there is an original one out there by Sue Gatlin and thanks to Big Stereo for the schoolin’) she totally made it her own, and forged ahead with her hit ‘We Connect.’ But back to ‘Two of Hearts’ - we’re giftin’ y’all with the 4 versions you totally need. 1st off- the birthday girls rendition. Secondly, the original by Sue Gatlin. 3rd on deck is the lovely Annie’s cover, which is really more like a karaoke sing-a-long. Last but not least is our absolutely fave version by Purple Crush. We first saw Isla and Air Jared play Shara’s bday party awhile ago and have been hooked on this couple ever since. So grab the zip file below! Also please enjoy Stacey’s guestspot as ‘Cinammon’ on the Facts of Life, where she and Tootie audition for the same role with the same song. OHMIGOSH THE HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could only aspire to achieve such heights. We should all learn from her ultimate full body wave.
