Amy Winehouse Scars Literally & Metaphorically- Would Someone Please Help Her, Like, Now?

If you were lucky enough to slip upfront for an Amy Winehouse gig down at SX last week, there is a good chance that you caught a glimpse of her forearms. Yes, this is a dedicated live music photo blog, but I’ve been waiting for someone else to mention this and no one has. So I’m gonna take a PSA moment. Actually, let’s talk about photos that I can’t submit for assignment because of the wounds. Her publicist has said that the recent cutting scars on her arms are due to tumbling and falling over in the streets of New York. Really? Our streets aren’t that mean. Also: Winehouse has admitted dropping 4 dress sizes since the fall. Self injury is a coping mechanism, as well as a hard habit to break, and we can only hope that she has supportive people around her to offer the help she needs. I think she is one of the most gifted female artists in the industry now, and I’d like to see her make it to the third album. Just had to get that off my chest. Signing off now.

Yeah, thanks for posting this, I just came across another site where where showed pics of her poolside with her new man.
It’s pretty obvious they are self-inflicted, and those actually look pretty recent too.
I agree, I really hope she has good friends around her, she definitely is a self-destructive person, and I am not sure marrying the person who inspired the whole BACK TO BLACK album is going to cure that.

Hey thanks! Yeah I just found out that Blake was the man behind ‘Back to Black’ and was kinda like uh-oh. There’s a really good piece on her by Jenny Eliscu in Rolling Stone this month: www.rollingstone.com/news/story/14934121/the_rolling_stone_cover_story_amy_winehouse_on_fighting_her_inner_demons_and_the_justmarried_life where they finally bring up the scars. It’s excellent. I just want her to be happy and to keep on making amazing music. Best!

I really dont see the point in bringing up that topic, im sorry if this comes off rude however you shouldnt asume that she is horrible because she cuts her forearms. I cut and it’s not something to be proud of, maybe if you understood why she did it, maybe you would reconsider. There are tons of people a day who cut themselves, they need help, and so does Amy. So what if she lost 4 dress sizes, thats her business not yours.
